Snickerdoodles

2 3/4 cups flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup real butter, softened
2 eggs
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla (just vanilla and alcohol or approved brand)
1/4 tsp salt

Preheat oven to 400. Cream butter, sugar,eggs and vanilla together until well blended. Add other ingredients. Beat at low speed, scraping often until well mixed (2-4 minutes).

Coating:

3 tbsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon

In a small bowl, sift together sugar and cinnamon. Shape rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into 1-inch balls and roll in sugar mixture. Place 2 inches apart on cookie sheets. Bake until edges are lightly browned (8-10 minutes).
